Breaking Tech, Political, Financial, fambly [sic] news from "Austin"

Ever-committed to bring you the best Breaking Tech, Political, Financial, fambly [sic] news from "Austin," e-Thang.net is back. The look isn't much different, but I've switched from a php-based site to Ruby on Rails.

Now, that may mean nothing to any of you. In fact, since there aren't actually any of you, I'm mostly typing this to myself! Although, in that case, I imagine this would mean something to my "readership."

Anyway, point is, this site went into never-being-touched mode. It was created when I got bored and bought an excellent book on HTML and CSS, wanting to learn the subjects. My wife and I were also expecting a child, and we wanted to create a registry. Being a geek, I couldn't handle using the registry of some store. Plus, most of our items weren't typical things you would find at any store with ready-made registries. So, I built one, sort-of, using php (because that's all I knew at the time). I think 3 people viewed it.

Since then I started a job where we primarily use Ruby on Rails. I'm not a big fan of php anymore (there is a causal relationship), so I didn't want to work on the site anymore. This big development now is that I got off my duff and got a new host. So, the site is under development again, and I hope to make it active.
